quest-3The QUEST System is a simple redirective, non-gating crash cushion that has been completely tested and has successfully passed the entire\r\nNCHRP 350 test matrix at test levels two and three. The 70mph Quest System has been tested and accepted by the FHWA after successfully passing NCHRP 350 test 3-31.\r\nThe QUEST System consists of a series of W-beam fender panels supported by diaphragms with an innovative integrated trigger mechanism at the nose that releases a “front assembly” during impacts to absorb the energy of impact. The system is designed to telescope rearward during head-on impacts to absorb the energy of such an impact and to redirect vehicles during side angle impacts.\r\nThe system provides protection for hazard widths ranging from 24”-36”.

NCHRP 350

The QUEST System meets NCHRP 350, Test Level 2 or 3 as a redirective, nongating attenuator. The QUEST System is also capacity tested to meet NCHRP\r\n350 TL-3 at 70 mph (115 km/h). It is designed to absorb the energy of impact for vehicles weighing between 1,810 and 4,410 lbs (820 and 2,000 kg) traveling at speeds up to 62 mph (100 km/h). During a head-on impact at the nose, the QUEST System telescopes rearward to absorb the energy of impact and bring the vehicle to a controlled stop. During side angle impacts, the QUEST system is capable of redirecting 4,410 lb (2,000 kg) vehicles at angles up to 20 degrees.\r\nAfter a design impact, there is typically no solid debris, which reduces the risk\r\nof secondary impacts.

Completely Tested

The Quest™ CEN family of crash cushion systems is designed to protect motorists in vehicles from 900 kg to 1500 kg from roadside hazards as narrow as 610 mm.\r\n\r\nQuest™ CEN has been tested in Europe as a re-directive crash cushion to the maximum 110 km/h using 1317-3 criteria. To fully comply with the definition of a system type tested crash cushion, Quest™ CEN has been further tested at 100 km/h and 80 km/h.

\r\n\r\nThe QuadGuard™ CEN family of crash cushions is CE Marked and has been certificated by an authorised EU Notified Body.\r\n\r\n

Shaper Rail

The shaper rail uses square tubing bender technology to decelerate an impacting vehicle.\r\n\r\nThe Shaper Rail also helps to redirect an impacting vehicle during an angle impact.

Redirective Capability

Fast and Easy Installation

\r\n\r\nThe QUEST System is designed for fast and easy installation. Assembled at the factory, the Quest is ready to be installed. The free standing backup nests neatly around hazards up to 24” wide. Thirty anchors are all that are required to install. If required, the Quest can be shipped unassembled.\r\n\r\n
